I think they have to do this with every story that comes in the middle of a trilogy. It is full of tragedy for our heroes and leaves us desparing, "What's going to happen now?!?"
I was right that Kyp would be Lukes next apprentice, and of course we figured that Exar Kun was going to get to him, but did he kill Luke?
I did like looking into a couple Jedi training lessons. Floating on the water and letting their conciousnesses flow into the Force was excellent.
The bit where Qwi Xux and Wedge were falling in love was very sweet, but of course, ended in tragedy!
All in all, I'd say a very good Star Wars book; it brought me up and down. I felt like the Force was dealt with more than in any of the others we have read so far.
I'm very eager to read the next book, but I'm going to tangent for a second.
I just got copies of the first three issues of Dark Empire. I'm going to give them a read and see how Luke went to the Dark Side. That story seems so important in that it made Luke the Master he supposedly is in these books.
Speaking of which; if Luke is a Jedi Master, how come he never sensed Exar Kun's presence? Yoda sure would have! Maybe Yoda was a Jedi Master's Master. I feel like Luke was sold a little short here by Kevin for the sake of telling this story of Kyp's turn to the Dark Side. I mean, Luke (as I will soon find out) has been to the Dark Side and back, right? Shouldn't he be a little more aware? A little bit more capable?
Well, I'll read these comics and then get on with the last book and find out.
